New Rhythms

Dear All,

I started this blog in 2021 to share our (traditional) homeschool journey but the last few months have been filled with life changes that altered the so-called traditional style/routine that I thought we had in place. It has been a journey of self awareness and of small moments that have changed me and the way I relate to Kind Screamer (8yo) and Sweet Dumper (3yo).

As our world and routines continue to find its own rhythm, you will notice some changes in the blog and I want to highlight the most notable ones.

Unschooling Lifestyle—We have transitioned into Unschooling, yayyy! If you are not familiar with unschooling you can watch this short video and learn more about it. The transition to unschooling (a life without formal curriculum) has made sense for our family dynamics and adopting the label has made it more “official” but it has been a gradual transition and I’m excited to share this journey with you via this blog.

Advocacy—I’m currently studying under Dayna Martin from Radical Unschooling to become an advocate for children, children’s rights and a life where children are truly seen as people. The program and the people in it have helped me heal from things I didn’t know I needed healing from. My advocacy it’s slowly finding its voice but I am venturing out into new things and I love that. You can read more about Dayna and Dayna’s programs through her website.

Building Community—Finding community is one of the most important aspects of unschooling/homeschooling. My last post talked about starting a community through Mighty Networks (MN) but I have decided to cancel that for various reasons. MN is a paid service and I’m really conscious about our spending so I can spend more time at home. Although MN is a great concept I have not found the joy or the time in building it because my wandering spirit is still finding its true calling. Instead, I will be exploring Wix’s own platform to get to know you all better. Stay tuned for some chat availability.

Blog—I have added three categories under the blog button: unschooling, traveling and bilingualism [I’m still not sure about this one]. Those three words are the major themes in our lives and I love to share what we have learned along the way. I hope you will find them useful and inspiring.

Coaching—This section explains the services I have available if you are in need of personalized assistance or have specific questions. Living our best life while raising tiny humans is not always the easiest but I want to encourage you in any way possible. You got this!!

Reviews & Resources—Life is all about learning and I love learning about all things unschooling/homeschooling and anything in between. So, this section is probably the one thing I’m most excited about but it will be grown at a slower pace. I have three or four journals to get through to pull the resources together, so please bear with me. But check in often for links to books/articles/podcasts that have changed the course of our journey for the better.

Ok, that 's it! I’m sure I can say a few more things but I won’t take any more of your precious time. Thank You for giving me a chance to share this unbelievable journey with you and I sincerely hope to meet you someday. I’m always open for a quick chat through text, zoom, email or a visit if you are up to it!

Your Time Is Precious, Make It Count!

Until next time,

Julieta
